IBM acquisition of webMethods from SoftwareAG

IBM completes acquisition of webMethods from Software AG to strengthen integration, API and hybrid cloud capabilities. In mid-2024, IBM completed the acquisition of webMethods from Software AG, following the signing of a definitive agreement in late 2023 and receipt of all required regulatory approvals. webMethods is a leading enterprise integration and API management platform that enables organizations to connect applications, data, services and business processes across cloud and on-premises environments. By bringing webMethods into its portfolio, IBM significantly enhances its capabilities in application integration, API management and hybrid cloud integration, helping clients to unify their IT landscapes and accelerate digital transformation. The acquisition builds on a long-standing relationship between IBM and Software AG and reflects IBM’s strategic focus on AI, hybrid cloud and automation. Alongside webMethods, IBM also acquired StreamSets, a data ingestion and DataOps platform, providing comprehensive tools for managing the flow of data and integration across modern IT environments. For IBM’s customers and partners, the addition of webMethods delivers one of the most advanced integration platforms in the market, with broad support for B2B integration, API management, event-driven architectures and cloud-native deployments, making it easier to modernize applications, manage APIs and support hybrid multi-cloud use cases. This strategic acquisition positions IBM to help organizations tackle the increasing complexity of distributed systems and the growing demand for real-time connectivity, laying a foundation for future innovation in automation, data-driven AI and seamless application ecosystems.

New contract with UNIQA Österreich Versicherungen AG

Fabrici Management Consulting has signed a contract with UNIQA Austria to support the implementation and automation of claims business processes, and to deliver the implementation and consolidation of related APIs to streamline system integration. The delivery is being implemented on the webMethods integration technology stack, enabling UNIQA to standardize and orchestrate claims-related workflows across multiple internal systems and external services. As part of the engagement, we are helping to: Automate and orchestrate key claims processes end-to-end (from intake and validation through to downstream processing and status updates) Implement and consolidate APIs into a managed, reusable API layer, reducing duplication and simplifying integration for consuming applications Enable consistent data exchange and mediation, supporting reliable transformation, routing, and validation of messages between systems Strengthen integration governance and operational stability, with better monitoring, error handling, and maintainability of interfaces over time This approach improves overall integration consistency, time-to-change, and operational resilience, while creating a scalable foundation for further digitalization of claims-related services.
